Use this description

SnapState saves the Mac workspace you already arranged. Capture visible windows on the current desktop, the apps needed to reopen them, the current display topology, and the active tab URL from supported browsers. Restore the named setup from the menu bar or a keyboard shortcut.

What it does not claim

The current release does not archive every browser tab or every macOS Space. It restores the visible desktop and the active browser context that it can read.

Useful story angles

The monitor swap problem

A practical Mac utility for moving between a laptop-only desk and an external monitor setup.

A calmer restart

Save the arrangement of a workday once, then bring back the apps and windows after a restart.

Context switching without rebuilding

Keep separate named setups for development, writing, calls, or research and recall them from the menu bar.
