How much is Putback?
Its site lists $19 once for 1 Mac and $29 once for 5 Macs, with a 7 day free trial.
Comparison
Putback is a Mac window restorer that learns where your windows sit and puts them back when displays return. SnapState restores more of your desk for less: windows on every Space, full screen windows and all open browser tabs, for $9.99 once on up to three Macs.
Verdict: if you work across several Spaces or want your browser tabs back, SnapState covers what Putback's own FAQ says it does not do yet, for about half the price of a one Mac Putback license.

Putback's FAQ says it works within the Space you can see on each display and never records or moves windows on your other Spaces, with full multi-Space memory on its roadmap. Its site does not list reopening browser tabs. One Mac costs $19, and its FAQ says Sidecar and DisplayLink screens have not been tested yet.
SnapState saves windows on every Space in one workspace, puts full screen windows back in full screen, relaunches apps and reopens all open tabs in supported browsers. Restore it from the menu bar, with Control-Command-1 to 6, or automatically on wake and when a monitor connects. See also DisplayLink windows move after sleep and restore windows on multiple Spaces.
The 40 second demo shows a workspace saved from the menu bar and restored with one click: apps relaunch and windows return to their displays, positions and sizes.
SnapState is not a tiling or snapping tool. It does not save tab groups, history or form data, Firefox is not supported, and it does not change the display arrangement, menu bar or Dock. It needs Accessibility permission, and Automation permission for browser tabs. See SnapState.
